Here is a delicious candied yam recipe we just had to share. This recipe is from The Foster Firm's favorite caterer, Ivoire Bistro & Catering . Enjoy!

Ivoire’s Bistro Yams

Ingredients

4 large sized yams

8 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

1 orange

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp pure vanilla extract

1/2 Tsp Parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

2. Wash the yams.

3. Peel, then chop the yams ( cut to your desire)

4. Place the yams into a 9x13 bake dish.

5. sprinkle 1/2 cup of white, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1Tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp salt, 1Tbs vanilla extract, pinch of ground nutmeg

6. take 1 Orange (cut in half & sprinkle juice from orange. Place the orange halves in the pan.

7. Take half stick of unsalted butter and cut into slices. Next evenly distribute butter across the top of the yams.

8. Next, cover the baking dish with foil, then bake the yams in the oven for 30 minutes.

9. Remove the yams from the oven, and baste them with the candied mixture.

10. Cover the yams, and bake them for another 15-20 minutes.

11. Remove the yams from the oven, and let

them sit for about 10 minutes before serving.

12. Sprinkle Parsley & Bon appétit!

Take Pictures or Video of the Scene

Have a full stock of all sizes of batteries. You will need plenty of batteries to run radios, flashlights and other emergency essentials.

1. Be sure your child has a thorough physical before the start of any sports season.

2. Resting their young bodies is important. They should take 1 or 2 days off per week and at least one to two full months off per year.

Slip and fall accidents can lead to very serious, even fatal, injuries. Even when we are being as careful as possible, accidents can still happen. Still, taking preventative measures in certain types of places and situations can definitely reduce your risks of a slip and fall accident.

Here are 5 major causes of slip and fall accidents that you should be aware of:

1. Wet floors: Those slippery when wet signs are just put out for decoration. This is a REAL WARNING that you should heed. Wet floors should be completely avoided in businesses and at home if at all possible.

2. Bathroom bathing: Bathtubs and showers can be very tranquil places, but also can be very dangerous. Bathroom accidents are a prominent cause of slip and falls. Use slip proof shower and bath mats, safety rails and extreme caution if at all possible you are showering or bathing.

3. Low & poor lighting: When you can’t see where you’re going or if there is something unseen in your path, that can be extremely dangerous. Try to avoid poorly lit areas or bring additional lighting with you. Flashlight apps are also a useful tool in these situations.

4. Stairwells: Stairwells, especially poorly maintained ones, can often lead to bad falls. Take your time and don’t run up or down stairwells if you do not absolutely have to. Also, use the handrail to help you keep your balance.

5. Uneven sidewalks & concrete: Raised or uneven concrete can easily cause even the most coordinated person to trip and fall. Carefully keeping an eye on your path and avoiding poorly maintained sidewalks can help reduce your risks.
